If this is the first time you've heard this story of God's love for you, you're now at that decision point. God loves you, so much that He became a man, and was willing to freely die so that His own blood would cover your sin and restore you to fellowship with Himself. But it only works for you personally if you're willing to trust in Him.
All it takes is telling Jesus that you accept His sacrifice for you. Uncomfortable with "prayer"? It's just talking to God. Don't worry, He hears you. Just thank Jesus for what He did for you, tell Him that you accept His sacrifice, and ask Him to save you and restore you to fellowship with Him. That's all it takes!
If you've done that, your relationship with God is just starting. To get to know someone you love, you spend time with them. Most folks wouldn't consider marrying someone they haven't spent a lot of time with. Similarly, God wants us to get to know HIM. The best way to do that is to read His letters to you (the Bible!) and to spend time with Him. You can do that by finding others who know God already and love Him, and let them share God's love with you. And you can also spend time talking to God, and learning to hear His voice. Yes, God does speak to us! We just have to ask Him to help us to hear.
